Sharing assistants
Any user can create personal assistants. An organization admin can also share one with the whole organization, so everyone can start a chat with it, and change or delete shared ones.
Create and share them in the app, under Settings → Assistants. Users list them with crewdesk assistants and start one with /assistant NAME or crewdesk --assistant NAME.
Good practice
- Keep the instructions about the job: tone, format, sources to prefer, steps to follow.
- Use the app allow-list to keep an assistant to the apps it needs. It can only narrow what the user has.
- Attach the knowledge notes it should always read.
- Give it conversation starters that show what it's for.
What sharing can't do
A shared assistant's instructions sit below Crewdesk's own rules, as preferences. They can't skip approval cards, raise the permission mode, loosen the policy or reach secrets, and saving refuses credentials, e-mail addresses and prompt markup.
A chat keeps a copy of the assistant it started with, but removing an app from the allow-list applies to every chat at once.
