What is Crewdesk?
Crewdesk is an AI coworker that lives on your Mac and in your terminal. You talk to it in a chat, and it does the work: on the code in a folder you open, in the business apps your organization connected in CrewAI AMP, and with the CrewAI automations your organization runs there.
It comes in two clients that share one account, one history and one set of rules:
- The Crewdesk app for macOS, a native desktop app with a chat, a side panel for pages and previews, and settings for your account, assistants, apps and permissions.
- The
crewdeskCLI, a chat window in the terminal and a print mode for scripts. It can also run ascrewai desk.
What it can do
| Area | Examples |
|---|---|
| Code | Read and edit files, run commands and tests, commit and push, start a dev server, take screenshots of your app on desktop and mobile, start a new project from a template, deploy a CrewAI project to AMP |
| Apps | Search your inbox and draft replies, post to Slack, look up and update CRM records, save a file an app returns |
| Automations | List your organization's automations, run one with the right inputs, read past runs, schedule it daily, diagnose why it failed, answer a data question through a query automation |
| Research and output | Web search, read a page, run deeper research; write a report as a page or PDF; show tables, metrics and charts |
How it stays safe
Crewdesk treats every write as something you approve. Reads run freely; a write in an app, a deploy, a schedule or a push is proposed as an approval card. In a folder, a permission mode decides whether edits and commands ask first, and commands run in a sandbox. Your organization's admins can set a policy that applies to everyone.
