Knowledge notes and memory
Crewdesk has three ways of knowing more than a fresh chat would: knowledge notes, your memory, and project instructions.
Knowledge notes
A knowledge note is a short fact that an expert would know and a newcomer wouldn't: what a status means, a database that is read-only, an input that takes a normalized name, the cause of a known failure. Each has a title, a text of up to 600 characters and keywords. The notes relevant to a turn go with it.
Notes come in three layers:
| Layer | About | Who curates it |
|---|---|---|
| Product | CrewAI and AMP, for every organization | Ships with Crewdesk |
| Organization | Your organization's house terms, systems and rules | Your note admins |
| Automation | One specific automation | Your note admins |
When the agent learns something worth keeping, it proposes a note on a card. A proposed note is used only after a note admin approves it (a note admin's own yes approves it at once). See Curating knowledge notes.
Memory
Crewdesk remembers facts about you that come up in your conversations and uses them in later answers (it uses CrewAI's memory). Settings → Memory shows what it learned.
Project instructions
In a folder, the AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md at its root tells the agent how the project works. See Workspace.
Privacy in the context
E-mail addresses in the context of a turn are replaced by labels, and when the context grows large, parts of it are dropped in a fixed order rather than at random.
